camdapter and battery grip?

okay, so I've searched for the answer...and came up empty handed as to my specific question.
when you have the battery grip, you don't have to buy the bottom portion of the camdapter right? also, can you even buy one of their straps if you plan on using that little strap connector on the battery grip itself, because they look really big and look like that are made for use with the actual adapter.
well, if you can't use camdapters grips, what's the second best?
