Just wondering which orientation makes for a better shot? I know the lines are a bit off as it wasn't shot head-on... just looking for feedback to work on...

    Welcome to drgrin, Jack.

I love quirky window shots too. We had a thread here a couple years ago just for window shots.

I really like the capture with the wash hanging on the line.

I might try this as a square image with just nine windows and avoid the portrait/landscape decision entirely. That is just my own opinion though.

I think the dynamic range is a little thin here; I might try to lighten the walls slightly so the image isn't quite so dark too, it looks a little flat to my eye.
I will await other poster's opinions with interest.

I think Pathfinder hit the nail on the head. Try square and adjust contrast and brightness/exposure and I think you'll find the photo will pop a lot more!

    Nice shot!

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Cropped and lightened... something like this?

Looks great! Really like the square cropping of it. It's awesome that you got the wash in only that bottom left window. it really makes for an interesting composition.

I like the idea and I definitely prefer the square crop, which just seems to suit the windows best.

I played around with it for a couple of minutes (hope you don't mind).

It might not be any good, but provides another idea.
It's not my camera's fault, I'm just visually illiterate

I like your tweak with the white walls as it makes it more graphic, although I believe it is still missing the info between the windows, the cracks. If you can, try to retain those lines and the white walls this may bring the compositional elements togetherdeal.gif
