I went birding with my son at Ft. De Soto park recently. The bird action was slow and it was a bit foggy at sunrise. We had a great time none the less.

Ginger requested I post some of his pics. He was using my old D70 with a 180mm, f2.8 lens wide open on a monopod. He did his own post production. Unfortunately, I don't think he knows how to change the ratio of crop dimension. These were all cropped 8x10.

His most impressive pic is this 9 panel panorama of the North beach lagoon. He stitched this together in CS3 without any help from me!

Tell your son he did a fantastic job! That panorama is super, and he got an awesome reflection on the egret. If he starts at this age, he'll be a pro in no time! clap.gif

Oh, my!!!! Those are very nice. I love yellow feet on a bird! And to stitch that together in CS3, I have never done that. Now I want to try!!!!

How is your bridge working, mine is terrible, so I can't wait to upgrade as I love the system. I have the beta, that is why I know my bridge is not working well, and I have gone back to CS2.

That are wonderful photos. The focus is sharp, the subjects are interesting, and, in the one case, the feets are yellow.

    Thank you for posting!!!

Hey, those are some nice shots, better than me when it comes to shooting white birds. I always blow out the whites. Tell him to keep it up. He has definitely impressed me! I can't wait until my children start showing an interest in daddy's hobby.

    Thanks for the kind words.

The photography lesson for him that day was to learn how to watch for blown highlights (blinkies) and to adjust the exposure compensation accordingly. He caught on pretty quickly!

Thanks for asking me to post these, Ginger!

He used the photomerge tool in CS3 and claims it was pretty easy! These 9 year old kids are computer geniuses these days!

I can't get bridge to work in CS3 either. Takes forever to load and the photos are so blurry that I can barely see them. I use Nikon browser and then open into CS3. Hope the final version fixes this.
