Ok, it doesn't look as good as some of your ducks, but what the heck. I was shooting in raw and this is what came out. It was croped and looks grainy :nah

I'll do better next time.

it's a good capture..thumb.gif ...I'm just guessing but did you have it set on a high ISO or sometimes I get this if I crop the photo to much.

Looks like a Mallard hen. Next time just tell her to turn the other way so you can get her looking at you. :D If you don't like the graininess of the shot, try Noise Ninja from Picture Code. I have had good results with it. http://www.picturecode.com/

Thank you, i'll give it a try, i've heard of it before and always wondered how it works. Duck was far away, as always!!! All my birds are far away, i just can't reach them with my lens :(: That is why i have to crop till i drop, i mean till it's looks more less decent without noise, etc. I'm seriously need to go shoping for at least 400mm lens.

Shooting raw take a bit of getting used to, but once you do it can save an image that was otherwise a throwaway! Ducks are excellent subjects to practice on. Bread will bring the ducks to you if you want them nice and close, but you might get too many! rolleyes1.gif
