Hi - experimented today with Photomagic's HDR software. Set my Nikon D50 to bracketing (WB bracketing with 3-step option). Correct me if I'm wrong but when taking a single picture the camera internally produces three. One at the WB setting of +3, 0 and -3 thus providing a greater dynamic range when combined. If limiting the bracketing function to only 3 picture, no tripod is required. In Photomagic the 3 pictures are merged and tone mapping is applied. In my case the camera was set to JPG fine (haven't used RAW format as yet). Photos were converted to TIFF and re-converted to JPG with extra compression (12% to get it within the limits).
Appreciate C&C as it's a first attempt at this technique.

Settings: Aperture f/9, shutter speed 1/160, focal length 200mm Lens: Nikkor18-200VR

Thanks & cheers - Herman

    Nice capture!

I find the pic a bit on the bright side. Maybe to can play with the blackpoint a bit?
