I've seen it that clear. It's just that 2 hours later it was raining, and 2 hours after that it was sunny again ;-)

Hi Karan,
Welcome to Melbourne (in April). Are you from Australia or visiting from elsewhere?
Melbourne is a wonderful city with lots to offer. If you are into shopping, we've got (for Australia that is) and heaps of good restaurants and plenty of Cafes.
As for shooting here, you can do all the usual, churches, train stations (Flinders street station has a number of 'clocks' out the front , or Spencer Street train station has been redeveloped and renamed Southern Cross)
I tend to like the alleys and back streets in Melbourne. You often see the staff of the myriad cafes out for their break, or the those less fortunate, etc, all of which can make for more of the 'non standard' type of shot.
If it is post card stuff your after, we have that too.
Having small kids means I don't get out shooting as much as I would like, but you could spend a fair bit of time poking around the place getting a few good photos.
Here are a few examples:
This was a strange site in the middle of Melbourne - a woman walking a sheep!
This is the Victoria Markets:
This is a Cafe advert:
Three people on the corner of Bourke Street and Swanston street.
And of course the Yarra river.
These two are of Flinders Street. My PS skills aren't good enough to get rid of the wires in front.
This last one is from the original thread - the camera turned around in the Tiger Moth (camera phone actually)
Cheers

If I walk down to the boat ramp on a clear day or night you can just see Melbourne on the horizon, very very small, but you can make out a couple of the high buildings there.
I like living away from Melbourne, nice to know its only about one and a half hours away, but I prefer the small town living myself.
Looks good from the air, Melbourne is a nice City, Sydney looks great too.
Hope you get some great shots at the AirShow next week.... and I hope I get to go too.... we're still not sure if we got tickets yet dang it!
Thanks for sharing Chris you got some nice shots there ...... Skippy

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
and that's a darn cool pic. being a camera phone doesn't hurt it at all, I think that helps (along with the "old-skool" goggles) give it a more "authentic, old-tyme" feel.
