    Charles,

Nice idea here thumb.gif I like the concept of the couple in front of the spewing fountain. But, maybe the water is too bright? ne_nau.gif It kind of draws the eye away from the couple.

Please take my comments with a grain of salt. I am horrible at this ne_nau.gif It's the main reason why I don't participate in challenges.

Anyhow, this should bump this thread up for some more knowledgeable folks to comment on mwink.gif

Nice concept. Who is it that recommended flash be used for most outdoor photos? I think this one would have benefited from some better lighting in the foreground.

On a side note, why do they put those metal barricades around fountains. I find it distracting in this shot. Is it to prevent stupid people from getting wet?headscratch.gif

I was sort of going for a strong back lit effect. Doesn't mean that I got it rightumph.gif Also you might consider doing what i do and participate in the critiques and the comments but skip the submission and voting.

I was a long way from the subjects. That fountain is designed as a spray pool for the kids. In this caes the barricades are needed

Thanks for the comments guys iloveyou.gif

Partially you're okay here, the concept is very nice and I can understand wanting a strong backlit photo.. The point is, the background is IMO too weak for a really strong backlight, or too strong for a more balanced photo. One poster mentioned fill-flash, that would have worked wonders for a balanced photo.
To have this picture 'work' with strong backlight then I think you should use some post-processing to make the couple darker so that you get a more silhouette-like photo.
Aside lighting... Shower me with love is a very strong title for this picture IMO, when I look at the couple my first reaction is affection.. Her head is tilted towards him, while her back arches backward. To me this body language does not reflect the love part... I assume this is a candid, in that case the photo is undoubtedly a very good piece of work, if it was more posed I'd gone for holding hands, knees crossed a bit more to strengthen the intimacy of the situation.
For a last comment, after studying the photo for a while I think you've taken the photo either a bit too late or a bit too soon. What bugs me is the absence of facial language of the guy. I would have liked that as extra reference for the 'loveshower' :D
Well, so much for my rant. I like the picture it really got me thinking about lots of stuff, thanks!
*In my mind it IS real*
