Hi Y'all,

Just got back from St Croix so I'm going to bug you again with some pics. These are from the last day of the MI IV shoot. I was driving through the Viera Wetlands when I saw this osprey right outside my car's window. She was spreading her wings and moving around on her perch like crazy and calling out. Ospreys sound like this

Anyhow she was backlit all to hell so I didn't expect the shots to amount to much but they came out ok

131950365-L.jpg

after a bit she took off and her mate came flying in. Unfortunately I was shooting a prime and very close so some clipping occurred

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Yeah :ivar wings.gif osprey pics. Nice job Harry. Hope you shot those with a 200mm :D The nests I visit down here , all have hatchlings in the nest, but have yet to be able to get a shot. Even tried a large step ladder on the boat. They are just too young/small to pop up their heads yet. I really want to get a shot of them in the first few days/week. I need to find someone with a large fishing boat with tower. deal.gif

    200mm :lol4 I used my 300mm and 1.4 TC.

I'll see what I can do about that large fishing boat and tower. Have you considered renting a helicopter?

Thanks Lynn. I was very happy with how hte exposures came out as the sun was just about right behind the osprey. I didn't expect much from the pics when I took the shots.
