I have early curvature of the spine from sitting here reading & reading over & over as much as i can.
From what i make of it all...L glass isnt always the way to go. Sure..stuff like the 70-200 L f2.8 is in a league of its own but when i started looking at some shorter lenses i have found sigma can be a smarter buy for something inbetween.

Along the same line of what gus was getting into (I think) what do you guys think of tamron lenses. Are they any good?

the 50 f/1.4 is stellar
the 85 f/1.8 is amazing
the 35 f/2.0 gets good marks, too.
cheers

That may be true, but it looks like his 24-70/2.8L was a bad sample or was dropped. In most other reviews, it's a consistent stellar performer.

I've been very pleased with the Tamrons.
A few more samples are in my portfolio here:

Sigma, Tamron, and Canon lenses, sports, portraits, landscapes, wedding. I've used them for many different types of photography.
I just happen to have one for sale. Make an offer.

It's all good. Besides, the head behind the camera is more important than the glass in front of it (within reason).
Do you really scrub grout during the day?
