Canon v's Sigma

I have early curvature of the spine from sitting here reading & reading over & over as much as i can.

From what i make of it all...L glass isnt always the way to go. Sure..stuff like the 70-200 L f2.8 is in a league of its own but when i started looking at some shorter lenses i have found sigma can be a smarter buy for something inbetween.

    How bout tamron
    Along the same line of what gus was getting into (I think) what do you guys think of tamron lenses. Are they any good?

    don't forget some of canon's ef series, too
    the 50 f/1.4 is stellar
    the 85 f/1.8 is amazing
    the 35 f/2.0 gets good marks, too.

    I have a Tamron 17-35 f/2.8-4 & 28-75 f/2.8, and they are amazing. Almost every pic you see me post is from one of those two lenses.

    That may be true, but it looks like his 24-70/2.8L was a bad sample or was dropped. In most other reviews, it's a consistent stellar performer.

    Both pathfinder and I have the 28-75 XR Di. Very good lens. I think the Canon 24-70/2.8 is sharper, but it's also heavier and way more expensive.

    Fish I'm looking to buy the 24-75 f/2.8 XR Di actually thanks for the review. I like really sharp lenses but it is cheaper and I can do some sharpening in software so....

    It's a fine lens, really...especially for the price. It's also really light, so makes for a great walk-around lens.

    It's all good. Besides, the head behind the camera is more important than the glass in front of it (within reason).
