I hope it's ok to share my good news. I am the proud owner of a brand new D200. I am so excited, and overwhelmed at the same time. I've upgraded from a D50 to a D80 to a D200 in just a matter of months. I have a lot of learning to do with the controls on this camera. :) Hope you don't mind me sharing the news with y'all!

congrats on that.. curious.. what do you find to be the best new features of the D200 over the D80 and both over the D50? I have a D50 now and will upgrade in the near future.. but I'm curious what made you upgrade?.. thx!

The functionality of the thing alone was worth the upgrade for me. The D200 is only a couple hundred dollars more than the D80 right now (there is a sale). The added controls right on the body itself as opposed to having to jump into the menu or use alternative methods to change features is a big plus for me. The more rugged case (metal alloy) was also a feature that got me. The body is more rugged and it is a bit larger so it feels better in my hands. All in all I don't think there is much diff between the D80 and the D200, but there is a big diff between the D50 and these two. I now have a great camera (D200) for my primary body and the D80 for my backup. As they say at McDonalds... "I'm lovin' it"!

You should also find the D200 more responsive and a much faster shooting rate.

    Great stuff!
