Hey, those are good shots! Keep them coming. But I will warn you that lens lust is certifiable disease. I suffer from it horribly! BTW, did you notice the way that one bird is looking right at you in the last pic? Are those fan tail grackles? The ones we have down here in Texas aren't that blue. headscratch.gif

Snarcher, I also have a D50. And, lens lust iloveyou.gif will be the demise of your bank account. If you're like me (perpetually broke), you'll wait for a good deal to come along. I got a Tamron 200-500mm lens for $500 (some bills got put on hold that month), and I'm thrilled. You're gonna be so frustrated until you make the investment. And, when you do, your shots will magically improve. No more excessive cropping, and the resulting image degradation. Bird photography has become my passion, and I'm learning almost every day. I say "almost" because I had no interest in going out in the sleet, snow, and ice to capture what you got. And frankly, that '"through the window" thing doesn't do it for me. Not unless the lens is squarely perpendicular to the glass.

Keep at it. You're obviously already hooked. And, you got a nice assortment of birds out there. Just wait till you start duck hunting..... :D

Good shots especially when you consider you were shooting through a screen and with the snow coming down.
