Nothing special here, just few birds. Pardon the quality, just wanted to share.
:D

I can't seems to get the highlights correct. I adjusted exposure to -1.0 and even more on some, it still "blinking" :scratch

    We all wanna help.
Let's see some EXIF on these shots, please

Looks like you shot these midday, yes.......... well stop that :D

Shootin miday in bright sun over water will drive you and your meter nuts.
Not only is the light very harsh but the water will reflect even more on your subject.

Here are the times you can shoot midday
    overcast days
    heavy woods (lots of shade)
anytime or place where the intensity of light can somehow be controlled

There's so much more to this, you know the saying if it was easy.............:lol

Anyway shot us some EXIF on these shots and let's see if we can't get you headed down the road of blinky contro thumb.gif

I like that first pic in that you captured the downbeat of the wings right as they were touching the water. Too bad it was flying away from you. The other shots are pretty good especially the last one. The second to last (looks like a cropped version of the last) does have some hot whites but that is the story of my life. Black and/or white birds are the bane of my existence. You are not alone, believe me!

    Very nice series Mariana.

I think ISO 100 will be a start and center-weighted-average too.

Sometimes you can't elimited some blown whites, but shooting and constantly checking your histogram will help you a lot.

A very good investment is the Sure Shot System created by Ron Reznick.

You should have put #1 in the "Butt fest" thread!! :D

I like #3, and think you can rescue quite a bit of the whites by trying this tut by DavidTO. (Assuming of course you were in RAW mwink.gif)

Very nice catch! The first, with the wing dipping in the water, is my favorite.

You got some good shots Marina but those highlights are still a problem. When you shoot in the bright light of midday you may have to make some drastic EV adjustments to prevent loss of detail in the highlights.
