Taken over the last few days -and I'm still not done post processing.

Canon Xti + 100mm macro lens + MR-14 ring flash (used as fill or the main light source).

    Great images. I love the first wasp/hoverfly (#4). I don't usually like yellow too much but this works really well.

    Beautiful shots. the insects colors against the yellow really worked. Nice DOF too. Number two is intriguing. Do you have any idea what kind of insect it is?

    Thanks! I don;t like yellow too much myself -I've never owned a camera that could nail the white balance when shooting against it...

    Thanks! LordV, on another forum, said that it might be an oil beetle. I didn't know we had them here until yesterday...

    A lot of creatures look cute from a distance -but once you see them up close it's a whole different story. There are some beetles here that could defend your house if they were the size of a small dog... eek7.gif
