Can't find exif

I read through two tutorials on linking exif, but can't find it. I turned on "camera info" in customize gallery and clicked the blue i, but it says no photo details available.

What am I doing wrong?

In the 1st link in rules section of LPS Rules thread, it says:
<<< To add the EXIF information, you've got to head back to smugmug.

Under your photo is a link to photo details: exif

Click on that.

(Note: make sure that you have Photograph Details enabled in your custom gallery settings!) >>>

Photo details does not exist under my photos, nor is there a line in customize gallery that says "enable Photograph Details."

I don't want the cheese, I just want to get out of the trap.

    Jim -
I just took a look at one of my galleries, and I believe the setting you are looking for (in customize gallery) is camera info: in the look & feel section.

I should have known that this isn't a straightforward problem or you already would have solved it! Sorry for butting in... I'm sure one of the real experts will have the answer.

    JimW....

It looks to me like you saved that gallery of photos as.............SAVE FOR THE WEB, instead of ..........SAVE AS..........Save for the web deletes ALL of the EXIF data....Yopu need to be saving your work as.....SAVE AS.

Those are some really great photos and and photo ART.

    Hope this helps

You've stripped the exif in your processing. Are you using "Save For Web" or some similar routine?

Use "Save As" and it usually preserves the exif.

Yes, I use save for web, as I thought it was the correct method. Okay, so whenever exif is needed, I will use save as instead.

    Thank you Andy
