The betel nut chewer. That white flask contains lime, obtained from minced shells. One of the ingrediendts you have to have if you want to chew your betel nut properly.
Converted to B.W. with the double Hue/Saturation layers technique.
Waikabubak's market, Sumba Barat, Lesser Sunda islands, Indonesia

I just saw this and find it very interesting! The composition, the conversion, the textures, the eye contact...just great, as usual! clap.gif

You really had some fun in Indonesiaclap.gif

I do like this portrait and story. I find the white beam on the left a bit distracting though and would burn/mask it down in tone a few stops.

Ok now lets keep goin. See the light on the head of lettuce? Do just the same on the mans shirt and maybe face. That is increase brightness and maybe contrast.deal.gif Take that back just make the shirt brighter.

    I really like this photo.

    Great comp.!
Both the light and th e dark one. I do think that on the light one you need to see if you can get the shirt darker.

Actually I prefer the lighter one. I really like contrasty images, but speaking about this shot I rather prefer subtle contrast. Especially looking at the shirt and at his neck!
