This Sunday 18th of March was the Sydney Harbour Bridge 75th anniversary. The day was celebrated by closure of the bridge to general traffic and allowing hundreds of thousands of people to take a walk across the bridge from North Sydney into the city. There were a lot of events both on water and in the air showing a spectrum of historical vessels and aircraft from 1920s to today. At night the organisers have created a visual spectacle by directing strong colour light beams underneath the bridge structure highlighting its engineering elements. You can see more photographs from the day in the Sydney Harbour Bridge 75th Anniversary gallery.

Thanks Aaron. I can print A3 at home - I'll try a couple and see how they turn up.

Awesome pics, Ted. It's a lot different from (and more spectacular than) the few photos I've seen of the crowds walking across the bridge.
--- I don't quite get what the attraction of walking across the bridge on the day was - you can do it any other time; just not on the road.

Thank you. The crowds were great subject too but I had no press pass to be in the right spot. However .... who needs a passwings.gif when you can substitute with a bit of creative thinking:
