Eagle - New lens test

Just got a new lens, Nikkor 300mm, f2.8 VR. Thought I would take it out to my local eagle nest for a quick test. These are all hand held and wide open. Unfortunately, I was out in the bright midday sun.

These shots are heavily cropped but have no sharpening. The IQ of this lens is superb.
This lens is so sharp you could hurt yourself! I think I'm in love:lust

Sweet Lens Mitch. Can't wait for you to practice some more with it. I see it is keeping its eye on you. In the second photo, what is that under his tail feathers? Look sort of like feathers from another bird but I can't tell for sure on my monitor.

Good eye there, Jester. That's one of the eaglets spreading it's wings in the nest.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
