Hi, my eject key on my keyboard has stopped working for some reason, I've tried to keyboard on another Mac and it works so I know it's not a physical issue.

Any ideas what might cause it to stop working, is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing?

Charlie

    Problem solved, don't worry.
I just unplugged my Griffin Powermate and it started working? Any I'll look into this now, see if there are updated drivers.

If you applied the 10.4.9 updater, it changed how the Eject key works. There is now a delay so that you have to press the Eject key for a second or two before it engages. This is because many people were annoyed when they accidentally pressed the Eject key and it immediately kicked out their disc tray. This also affects any keyboard shortcut that includes the Eject key, like Ctrl+Eject.

Ah, now that makes even more sense, thanks I wasn't aware of this.

Not your fault. Nobody was aware of it. It was not documented in the release notes. It was sort of a conclusion people came to on a few Mac boards, where I came across it.

You'd think as many people as asked for this, they'd have mentioned implementing it.

Looks like they got around to writing a tech note on it today.
