2nd 1/2 of game 2 on Sat I shot the 30D + 70-200 2.8
AF accuracy and sharpness (now that the 30d is back from Canon) was impressive, maybe better than the d200 + 70-200 vr
(and remember the 30D + 70-200 2.8 was $200 more than just the 70-200 vr)

Nice overall action and you cropped well. I have a 12 year old sun playing soccer and found that if I layed down on the grass the players would appear taller and the background was more interesting. Occasionally, the foreground grass being out of focus made for a nice element in the drama. Just watch out for the AR

f2.8 thru f4...i move it around based on the backgrounds...
f4 on this lens (the canon 70-200 2.8) appears to be the sweet spot but shows too much dof for busy backgrounds.

2 bodies and 2 lens and i'm lucky to stay on my feet...laying down would not be an option for me...
I shot 800 pics at this one game and kept 600
