I've been photographing the JV and Varsity Boys lacrosse games for the booster club at one of the local high schools here in north metro-Atlanta. The parents of the school's freshmen team (I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know there was a freshmen team) invited me out Sunday to photograph their guys in action.

It turned out to be one of the best games I've seen all year. These 9th graders overcame a 8-2 halftime deficit to defeat the varsity team from a high school in Newnan, GA by 10-9 in OT.

Really great shots. What is going on in the second one? I don't ever think I've seen a scene like that.

Well, basically the freshman goalie had a momentary lapse of reason and got out of position. To cover his gaffe, he decided to do a couple of ballet moves with the opposing team's attacker. ne_nau.gif

    It was a spellbinding moment.
