Lens Hood for MP-E 65mm

Does one typically need one for this lens? Does it interfer with the flash from a ring light?

    While there might be some shooting situations where you would want a hood, in many other situations a lens hood would only interfere.

    I would suggest the use of flags or even improvised "barn doors" on the flash for better light control.
