Now where would you find something like a banana slug in Oregon this time of year? Oh yeah... just about everywhere!

I'm in Portland and I've been reduced to slug hunting in my garden lately so they don't destroy every new spring flower or plant. I also have some slug traps baited with beer... but nothing ever gets rid of them all and the traps can get kind of nasty if I forget to clean them.

Nice photo-- but it makes me want to get out my grass shears or a stick to slice it in two!

Yes, they do wreak havoc on the plants, don't they...nasty things. When we were kids, my brother and I would go around with a stiff wire and shish kabob as many as we could find! I grew up near the southern OR coast and we got some mighty huge ones. I'll never forget my cousins visiting from North Dakota and being fascinated by them. I don't blame you for the urge to slice it in two! But when I saw it, I thought, "Hey, something slow moving to practice on with my macro lens." mwink.gif

Not my favourite subject but excellent shot (even if it is B&W). Excellent composition and textures
