I went out today to find a shot of a bird... The colour is a little rich but there was another photog in the hide with a mirror, the back view was good on the right hand shot, but the front view was totaly over the top. To get the backgrounds to match would have left the chest detail blown orange on the left hand shot. take a look at his site http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/birdphotos/index.htm

Anyway, my daughter wanted a triptych of a sunflower I took last autumn, taken down, and these three put up in there place, excuse the babkground, I was trying to subdue the colours. They are not as bad at 7 x 5 inch

Thats great colour stan & nice bokeh that shows the colour & bird well.

I have heaps of them all around me & cant get them until i take the 'glass' leap of death. I live right on a large river & they breed & nest around me.

Wav file of our biggest Kingfishers that get together outside my bedroom window at 4am.

Imagine about 10 of them after a late night.

Thanks Humungus. I get Barn Owls at night but I'm not sure about photographing them at night, they are protected and cannot be disturbed or something.

Good luck with the 'Quest For L'. That shot was with a 100-400 is L. on Saturday I get a second hand 28-70 F/2.8 L, I cannot afford a new 24-70

Oops i meant the amount of kit they carry, it's all 600mm lenses and expensive tripods and heads, stuff to make you envious. But yeah, I perfer to hang with the hacks :D

After the Kingfisher had gone' a guy came into the hide with all the latest gear, when he brought out the Better Beamer, I decided that was time to go home headscratch.gif
