if you were going to print this for a frame, i might suggest repairing the blown highlight on his right shoulder...

again, a fine photo, thanks for sharing gabriel with us!

Welcome to da grin. Now take a seat. :D

Nice looking boy. Did he just get his haircut?

I think I would reshoot with a little less direct backlight. The yellow coming through his ears is kinda unsettling. That would also fix the blown-out shoulder. I would also recommend a different sharpening technique, as it looks soft overall. I can't actually tell if it's a sharpening thing or a camera movement issue. You'll have to check it out by looking at the original.

The bokeh is nice and the overall "halo" effect on his hair is pleasing.

Again, welcome...and let's see some more shots!

I like Andy's crop. Gabriel is a cute kid, but he does not look real happy in this photo. I like the rear highlighting and the soft out of focus background. Nicely done.
I think a little fill flash could lighten his face and introduce a litle warmth to the image. The sweater looks nice. I think I would try to shoot from a lower viewpoint to allow the viewers to see his face more easily, rather than the top of his head.

Welcome to dgrin. Show us some more of your work, please.
