Eagles from Orgeon
Riddim-maker and I took a drive up to Klamath Falls, Or. where we found Eagles just falling out of trees........
But we had a difficult time catching them. :dunno The light was hard to work in, we hit the last week of the Eagle gathering, and we weren't able to get close to their feeding and hunting; however, we did manage to capture a few shots when they were resting. There will be some that you may like, probably more from Russ than me, but together we'll put them up for your c and c. My personal favorite is this Golden Eagle.......................

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Anyway, thanks for getting the ball rolling with these cool eagle shots Dallas. I finally got done sifting through most of the loot from our trip and will be posting some shortly. Although the lighting at times was challenging, we did manage to come away with some winners. Looking forward to more
Thanks Mike, and you're not too far from the truth. We did everything to get one to fly, including loud taking, laughing, and playing the car radio full blast, as he just stared down at us; but no rocks thrown at him. There were many Eagles, and other birds, but they were spread over a very large area except this one stand of trees where they seemed to rest between meals. This made it very difficult to get any "action" shots, and combined with the constantly changing light we were content to get a few decent images. However we had a great time, and when the Eagles are there in large numbers (300-500) around Dec. Jan. and Feb., the location although well known is a keeper. I'll post a few more, but if you like, look at my Smugmug page to see the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Thanks Harry, the exposures are not all that good, but you know I love taking Eagle shots.

Thank you Joel, the light was difficult most days, and the only time to shoot the Eagles was before noon on the good days, but all in all we came back with some decent images. The interesting part of the trip were the many different Hawks we saw, and how easy they were to capture. That's a quest in itself. I would love to go back next year, or before to explore that beautiful area, which offers many kinds of photographic opportunities year round. It will be hard for me to stay away next time during the peak period when several hundred Eagles are flying around, so maybe we can all plan another trip up to Klamath Falls.

In this great big world around us, we will find what we are looking for! What we do with it is up to us to decide.
Olympus E-500 Olympus E-520 Zuiko 14-45 Zuiko 40-150 Sigma 50-500 Zuiko 18-180 4-AB800 strobes, 1AB-400 stobe, 4 softboxes, brolly box, umbrellas etc.
I'm very happy the Eagle population is growing up there, so having seen how beautiful it is, now I will buy a little cabin in the mountains, little or no taxes, take advantage of the inexpensive living, and spread the word to all my friends who will cash in the equity from their high priced homes in California. We'll all live in the manner to which we wish we were accustomed, and take all the photographs in the world from our front yard. I'm sure the people of Oregon will welcome us with outstretched arms as they have done in the past. I must say your outstanding Smugmug galleries certainly do not discourage me. However, as I have also done in the past, I think I'll just stay here in the big city and suffer the masses. I think a short visit to the cold rainy north west will suffice when it suits my pleasure. In actuality I have known several friends who have sold out, moved, and happily integrated, as I have been told, to the dismay of the people in Oregon. It's a very beautiful State, but there's no place like home. But, "I'll be back."
