I took this shot from a boat while taking a trip along the Singapore River. Any comments - negative or positive - would be welcome.

Love the dark sky, super threatening.

    Nice composition, too.

I'm on a crappy monitor right now, but something looks artificial about the white buildings. I'll look again later, on a better machine.

Yeah-- the upper portion of that building does look a little too white. If it's natural, nevermind. But for some reason my eyes tell me the upper portion at least would be shaded by the storm clouds? You've captured the sky perfectly though!

Is this an HDR capture or blended image by chance? It looks very surreal! thumb.gif

No, it's not HDR - it's straight from the camera, with just a few tweaks to saturation, levels and USM in PS. It was just the right set of circumstances, I suppose.

Thanks to all you other folks for your comments.

Roy, this is a truly stunning photo. I always look for ominous clouds when shooting land- or cityscapes because they make for the drama. You were lucky to come across this and have a camera with you!

    Now there's something
you don't see everyday! Nice shot. Love those clouds. The waterfront is cool by itself but with that sky, it really takes on a whole new life. Very nice.

I really love this. The unreal lighting combined with the clouds makes for a very unsettling feeling that matches perfectly with the subject. I did think this was HDR at first but I think we also know how odd the lighting can get just before a storm. Lovely!

Thanks schmoo - like I intimated earlier, it was a case of being in the right place at the right time!
