LPS 1 slipped by. So time for stately.
Here is the monument I am shooting. Got couple of night shots. Will try day also but, I don't expect day ones to be better than the night ones.

I like #2 angle and composition better. It makes me feel like I'm right there under it. And the detail is easier to discern. Very nice shot, love the colors. Fits the theme well.

I agree the second shot adds a depth to the composition. Gives it a more "Stately" appeal. Nice work.
