New Sandhill Crane Chicks

These Sandhill Crane Chicks Hatched a few days ago.
The Parents were very protective and moved them away when I tried to get close.

    Good catch of the little one. Sandhills are very protective of their young. When they walk there's one parent in front, then the two chicks and in the rear the second parent. When they stop to look for food one parent will be with the chicks while hte second stands guard.

    Oh my goodness!! iloveyou.gif What cuties, i saw mommy, daddy and a baby sandhills yesterday while driving my son to his friend, i was soooo mad i didn't have a camera with me :bash And they were just a foot away.
