I was visiting a friends house and went walking about their garden when I spotted this spider staring straight at me. What do you think? Does it work as a "nature" photo?

Yes it works.....it nothing but nature....there is no human element here (aside from the photo).....HOWEVER....I would have prefered a dead on sharp spidey....It looks rather soft to me.

Thanks. That's well spotted - I was travelling light (read "no tripod") and forgot to up the ISO on the camera before taking the shot. I tried to sharpen the spider in CS, but I suppose it's best to fix it at source, i.e. when taking the shot, than afterwards.

I'm still learning and it seems that there is a million and one thigns to remember when taking a shot headscratch.gif That's why I join DGRIN - to help me improve my photos :D

It's a great catch, i agree that spider looks out of focus and flower is kind of blury, but hey, we all have been there!! You'll never learn if you never try and ask questions. These board is great for any question to be answered. Just hang in here and keep on snapping!! Post some more :ivar

Thanks for the feedback. For sure I'll keep on snapping and posting - to me getting feedback is the only way to improve (after you've read a few books/mags of course)
