While it certainly seems interesting, the inventor behind the Memjet (Kia Silverbrook) was promising something similar in 2005, that never developed into a finished product:

New Printer Technology
Has anyone heard of the MEMSJet? I work for a MEMS company, so have seen lots of industry announcements about this printer technology, and must say it looks really promising and interesting.
It fits the consumer electronics mantra: smaller, faster, cheaper.

Are you referring to the same technology as discussed here?
