Photo Dimensions - Advice please?

Hello all!
I'm wondering what your advice is on the dimensions for my photos to upload to my galleries?
I recently uploaded 4 x 6 photos with 72 res (figuring they'll be for VIEWING only, not printing)..and they seem rather small.
Then I thought perhaps I should upload my FULL files so that I can print them if I want... but those seem HUGE and they take some time to upload.
So I thought I'd ask my fellow SmugMuggians... what is your advice?
The more who chime in, the better.
And thanks, in advance, for giving me input! :bow :thumb

Should I use the "Drag and Drop" uploader? Or is there a more efficient way to upload bulk, large files?

I took your advice and uploaded some pictures at full-size.
Even if I need to start it before I go to bed!
