Hello!

Well, I was frustrated about missing LPS#1 altogether, so I really raked my mind about Humble/Stately...

Here is what I came with for the moment...
Not sure about the rotation (it was on a tree, so it should be vertical, but I kind of prefer it this way...).

Still raking...

Took me a while to see it. IF you can figure out a way to draw attention to the ant, this could work.

    Hi
I love your idea. I'm so frustrated because all the ideas I have come up with have already been shot and submitted - including your idea! I think it's great.

    Thanks for your comments...

Lack of focus : that's what I was afraid of...

Here comes a blurred version, in both orientations :

    Again, thanks for your comments!

Much better IMO, another thing you might try (and I'm not sure this will work, but wth right? =c) is darkening the area where you blurred a little bit. the way I would do this

make a layer, fill it with 100% black
    set it on overlay
create a layer mask, get a large round brush with soft edges, center it over the ant and paint in the mask, so that you don't darken the ant.
then lower the opacity of the black layer to 50%( adjust with taste)

Also, I'd boost your colors a bit, they a bit blander then they were in the original

Flip it left for right. People usually read photos from the left to right. If you put the ant on the left side of the photo most people will notice it sooner.

    totally opinion here,
I DO think the blurring helps, however it might be a little too much. I prefer the landscape version. again, just my opinion. also, i agree with liquidair too, flip it so the ant is walking left to right, not right to left.

    OK, last one!

I think the 'toshopped parts are slightly less obvious now...

Now that I've done it, I'm kind of partaged about the left-to-right flip... I liked the sense of resistance the previous pic gave, the feeling that the ant was going in the wrong direction...

    Thanks for your feedback, all!

I like it best flipped, as you were advised, with the ant on the left side of the frame. I think your blur is just right. It makes us focus more on the little guy. I, too, when looking at the first version took some time to notice him, but now it feels right...and he has some space to travel into whereas before I was a little bored with that open area...(IMramblingHO)

I also like the ant better on the left as suggested.

    It's a really cool shot! thumb.gif
