I'm loving my new 20D. :lust Two days old, I've attempted flower macros with the also new 500D hunk of glass for the end of my 70-200 IS, landscapes including night shots, some catstuff during the rain, and finally tonight back to the horses. A big storm cell had cleared, and fog rolled in and out for the next hour. This shot was at 400 ISO, but I did some really nice stuff at 800 too.

Wildflower shots (so far) here

Beautiful shot of the horse Lynn. The lighting is sublime on that shot.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    What a great

I like this one for its unusual composition and the clarity of the hairs.

Lynne, you already know how much I love this shot, but I just wanted to add to the chorus. Outstanding. KPOTD, here you come.

Thanks, guys, you're too kind! He is a great model, and with the 10D I think there would have been a lot more noise. I cloned out a little bit of hay in the foreground, other than levels and USM that was it. Only way to shoot dirty hairy horses in winter, hide 'em in something like fog or dusk. :-)

Certainly the 10D couldn't have done this shot, taken with the 24-85 lens.

500 shots in 3 days, getting the hang of what's different. It's a keeper.

    Fantastic Shot
You'd better enter it at Kodak! :-)

If I didn't know better I'd think the horse was at the beach!

Did you get any other good ones?

I have mine ordered. (the 20D) Won't go out until Monday, I am sure.

I am scared to be excited. I love that horse shot, but I forgot to order the horse.

Please send it to Kodak. And let us know.... I send stuff to them that I think is good, and I have not heard anything.

That horse is one of the best pictures I have seen, not that others were not, but it should be KOPTD.

'gus, did you buy a dSLR yet? Can't go wrong with the 20D IMO. Even the cheapest lenses work well with it. Here's one from the $85 50mm f1.8, and The ISO was 200, handheld at 1/10, f2.0.

Thanks, Ginger and Dee, Dave's got me considering submitting it, I didn't think those judges would "get it".

congrats, Ginger!! You'll love it for those coastal shots of yours. What I've noticed is even my cheapest glass is WAY better on the 20D! Nice bonus.

Closing on one lynn....just sitting on the 20D..D70 fence as i suspect many do.

The 20D is a hell of a camera that is a fact but i have read over & over that Nikon is right up there in quality & 'bang for buck' and i have read alot re these 2 over the last few months.

Im a real fiddler with stuff & love the idea of using any nikon lens i find in a pawn shop with the D70. I can even make a real nice pinhole DSLR without too much worry i recon.

ne_nau.gif I dunno....im not allowed to read any more into it so fish & andy said.

How would they know what im reading anyway?...could be Dr Suess blbl.gif

FWIW, you can buy inexpensive adapters that allow you to use old Canon FD, Nikon, and Leica lenses on EOS bodies. It's not just a Nikon thing.
