After watching all you guys from the Carolinas and Georgia have all the nice weather, we finally had some here in MD. Was finally able to get out and have a real lacrosse weekend. I went to a collegiate club lacrosse tournament at the Univ. of MD in the morning, and a girl's Pee-Wee game in the afternoon. The weather and the sun was gorgeous.

Here's some of what I came away with...

(Don't tell her she's got her stick backwards...)

And a couple more of the rest of the guys/gals on the field...

Nice job, Will. I need to try shooting lax again, I'm having a hard time deciding what a good shot is in that sport.

I've seen what pros can do with football, baseball, basketball so I know what a spectacular shot looks like. I sorta know the elements that go into it. I haven't had enough exposure to lax to mentally call-up a great lax photo. I have no memory bank of images to call upon.

Mebbe, something's tugging at my memory about Saturday. Lemme get back to you. At GaTech?

GA State, I think? - southeast side of the city, 285 & Flat Shoals or so.

Interesting comment. I would think that most sports would have some basics in common--clarity, no background distractions, good captures of faces and emotions, seeing the action (usually the ball/puck/etc.)...

However, I week or so ago I was looking at a thread (I think it was in techniques) where someone had done a long exposure at night of a road scene and the head/taillights made the long streaks of light. Someone commented that it was a nice shot, but it had been done a million times before, etc. Maybe that's the catch 22 of our hobby--trying to take photos which are reminiscent of other great photos, but still make an impact in their own, unique way.
    Regards

    Will
