Lion cub and red panda cubs

This is Bentley. He's 6 months old and weighs 90 lbs. He lives on a lion reserve outside of Las Vegas, and occasionally comes to play inside the MGM casino/resort in Vegas, which is where I got to see him play.


"Bless this ball which I am about to destroy...."

The next two shots are baby red pandas. They're nearly extinct, and we're fortunate that our local zoo (Chattanooga, TN) was chosen to foster these three, while their permanent placement is decided.

This image is not as clear as I would like, but it's a classic play maneuver I saw over and over this particular afternoon.




while this last shot, particularly of the little guy on the left sums up their presonalities beautifully. They are curious, mischievous, hilarous to watch romping around, and downright adorable.

I never heard of Red Pandas until I watched them on Planet Earth on the Discovery channel today!

It's funny, big kitties are just like small kitties in so many ways and that last pic of the lion is priceless. I love the expression. Those red pandas are very cute. Except for perhaps the koala, pandas make such awesome teddy bears.
