This shot was a combination of 5 shots stacked to give better definition of the snowflakes, needed to get these before all the snow had melted in the mountains around here. 100mm macro 2.8, this is cropped to almost full size.

These flakes are niceclap.gif. I know how hard these were to get.. When we still had snow I tried to get a few with my 100mm and they were really awful ! Thanks for sharing.

Lovely shot and good stack. :)
You are one up on me- still haven't managed a shot of snowflakes- the little snow we did get this year arrived as slush.

    Thanks everyone
Brian - yes i lived in the UK for 35 years, i know the type of snow you are talking about. In Nevada at altitude it stays light and fluffy for extended periods of time. Hope you get some good stuff next year.

Jill - Yes thanks, they are real difficult to capture, a real challenge.

Skippy - They are unique, it always amazes me just how nature can form something so delicate.

    Thanks Dan and Marina.
