Jelly-Fish_MG_3482.jpg?g2_GALLERYSID=1899d99561e4f888c761f4d90f6544fa This Saturday I’ve taken my kids to Sydney Aquarium. This certainly is “a must see” tourist attraction for any one visiting Sydney. This is one of the world’s biggest aquariums hosting close to 5000 marine species exhibited in their natural habitats. Everything form sharks, stingrays to exotic tropical fish is there to be admired.
I have taken few photographs and placed them here in a new Sydney Aquarium gallery. Photographing fish in the aquarium can be challenging due to reflections in the thick glass, lack of distance to the subject and very tricky light conditions. It took me no less than 30 tries to produce this photo of the Jelly Fish.

Wow, Ted, photo really looks great. thumb.gif Reminds me a bit of the Milky Way. I did an attempt once at the aquarium / zoo in Rotterdam by placing my camera with rubber lens cap mounted against the aquarium glass. It was in a man-made cave (total darkness) and coulden't see a thing. The flash was obviously set to off and I noticed that the auto focus light actually lit up the jelly fish after it had deactivated itself.

    Cheers - Herman

Thank you all. I think I need to plan to go there again but this time by myself so I have more time, and preferably not during the weekend (less people).
