Outstanding expsoure on the coot shot. They are very hard to capture well.

Great job on both... the feather detail is wonderful, and without a perfect exposure, that just wouldn't be the case... as cool as the coot is (and technically well done), I like the grackle even more... neat pose, wicked detail, and a great capture of the iridescent colors.

They are commonly (and incorrectly) called blackbirds by folks in these here parts.

The only way I'm going to do any better is to shoot at a lower iso with a support. I hate lugging that stuff around.....so....?
