I like your composition with the stone background very much, but I think the candle flame itself isn't obvious enough, because the candle holder catches the eye instead.
The shadows left of the picture are also a bit distracting, because they're obviously not from the candle.
Maybe you could move the background light from right side to the left or use an additional light on the left.
I like it too but I agree that the flame is not the focus of the shot. To me I see a shot of a painting on the wall and it happens to have a candle in the foreground. Might try to reshot and see what you get.

I find this a very interesting picture. Strangely, I think the reverse shadow adds to a wierd but interesting perspective. The oversized votive, great colors and textures, the ring of glow from the candle... I like it all.
I'm finding this picture interesting but I can't seem to find a spot to focus.. the picture.. the wall or the candle.. mind you.. I'm having a bad focus day..:D
