Is two week "free" trial actually free ...

I just paid for my account after my free trial. My renewal date is the same date as I originally signed up not from the date paid.

So is the free trial actually free if you decide to sign up? I realize it's only two weeks out of a year but it seems to me that if you state it's a free trial, then it doesn' cost you anything.

We're sorry about that. We're very liberal with the trial, you can do as many as you like, and there's no up-front credit card requirement.

If you can give me your site name, I'll put a $10 referral credit on your account, which'll be applied to next year.

Sorry for the hassle, it's just the way the system is set up :(

If that's the way the system is set up, that's fine.

Your first two sentences cleared that up.

I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining or ungrateful, I was just surprised is all.

In the two weeks of my free trial, I have sold more photos than I did having my other provider, so please believe me when I say I am not complaining my friend. wings.gif This is my excited dance to actually have a server/provider that cares and is hands on.

    Many thanks,
    Daniel

I signed up for the 'free trial' almost 3 months ago... and I only recently decided to start uploading photos and purchase an account... and now youre telling me I have to pay for the 'free trial' time, including the time when I did not use it all all... wtf?

Your 'trial' should be more truthful... ie... free trial until you pay us...

I wouldnt expect this from such a 'friendly' site as smugmug =(

Hi Mike, write to us at the help desk, we'll take care of you no worries thumb.gif Lots of ways to handle it. Start a new account, we'll move your galleries over, refund the money on the first one, and you can pay for the new one, starting now :)

    Alright, thanks Andy =).

Nope, Definitely not evil at all :P

I was also wondering, is there any way I can keep my current site name? It's currently MMoranphotography.smugmug.com, I'm really happy with it and I would really love it, especially if I can keep my gallery under the same name. =)

rolleyes1.gif Gotta laugh because I've been though the same thing.:D Click on Smumug
at the top right of this page or the bottom of your site. Then on the Smugmug page
click help at the top. On the help page down in the bottom left column click "Real people"
then "email a person". You'll find the help link in the first paragraph.
