city scapes are neat,
especially to me since i dont live near one that big. anyways, i agree with pyro's comment. in addition, i think it would be nice to see more of the city, from a different perspective, more of the buildings. for that matter, i bet you could capture some downtown sights that would be considered picturesque. us country-folk are fascinated with scenes of hustle and bustle surrounded by incredible skyscrapers. there are many artists who paint such scenes.
This the the image with increased contrast. Even if this photo doesn't work would the idea work for this competition?
Thanks/Peter
I love the increased contrast. As far as the idea: one of my planned shoots this weekend is to try to get out to across the river from Manhattan and take some skyline shots. So it works for me as picturesque.
Definitely picturesque in my eye!
...especially after you played with the contrast. The sky looks much more dramatic now. Even the skyline shows up better.
Defintely looks picturesque to me. Beautiful shot. Too bad about the smog, but that's almost inescapable except right after a rain.
I might try moving the sun a little bit more to the left (closer to the third). The buildings on the left side are less interesting than the cityscape to me.
Yes, a cityscape can be picturesque! Nice picture, especially with the increased contrast emphasizing the beautiful sky. I do agree with those who suggest you keep shooting to get the best image possible. Based on the first two LPS challenges, your entry will have to be really outstanding to have a chance at the top ten. A dramatic sunset would be great! Or maybe a night shot. Good luck.

I like the shot SO much better with the increased contrast! The buildings pop a LOT more.
