Looks like it gets pretty physical.

Nice shots with 3, 4 & 5 being my faves (3&5 could benefit from a
    bit of horizon tilt.).

Just because its NCAA doenst mean you need to give your work out for free. If you are trying to build your porfolio thats one thing, but when I first started other photograhpers are like "please say you are getting paid, even if its little" (because I was new and getting experience)

SID are getting used to getting photos for free, some of them dont care about the quality and well you get what you pay for, but it means alot of photographers are out of a job. And well it could be argued that they were mediocer and maybe should of thought of changing their careers anyways.

The NCAA over the last couple of years has gone back and forth on the issue, a couple of years ago they said empthaically yes, photograhpers can sell to players and parents but not for commercial use. Which make sense in my eyes.

More recently the NCAA's has allowed the schools to decede who and what gets to sell photos. The greedy schools have basically taken over sales for themselves and will be the ONLY seller of photos. Which I am sure each w. lax photo goes back into womens lax...yeah right it goes to football.
Other schools have used this rule to their advanage, many schools simply dont have the budget to pay their photograhpers what they would like, but I have a friend that shoots at one school and they encourage the sales to the players and parents. That way the school can keep their photograhper even though their budget doesnt really allow it because the photograhper can make up on print sales.

If its an NCAA championship that is different, pretty much no sales on those ones, but if its for a regular conference match up it should be ok, generally the schools are allowed to make the rules as the see fit (and of coures NO commercial sales period!!!)

Here are some topics from sportshooter:

Its still an unresoved issue as the NCAA doesnt really seem to want to come out and make the rules clear.

But there are plenty of people that make sales of of NCAA photos. I dont make a ton, but I make enough to improve my equipment and presentation so I enhance my portfolio and put myself in a better postion to take better photos. That is the least you should be getting.

Sorry about the diatibe, I just feel like SID's take advantage of new photograhpers way to often. I totally understand the responses of when I first started shooting college athletics "please tell me they are paying you something!!!"

Make sure you get something out of the deal for yourself.

I hope you dont feel like I am scolding or lecturing, just trying to share some experience and alternative opinion.
