Well, my first attempt with cups and glass was definitely not any good.
Yet due to the amount of support and encouragement I decided to give the original idea another try.
I think this one came out better, yet still no cigar...

    Nik,

Theres something to be said about this shot in regards to the theme 'irregular'. I don't know if it's irregular because someone owns so many types of glasses mwink.gif or if its irregular because there is so many.

There must be a way to pull this idea of yours together to come out with a great photograph. If not, there's still time to start a fresh slate.

I really like this take on irregular. Instead of thinking "unique" you are presenting "not regular" in the not matching sense. clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif

I think you should play with this idea some more. I like the picture but think you can do even better.

    When is the party? rolleyes1.gif

Nik- I think Swartzy hit it on the head. Find a way to illuminate your irregular shot glass to draw more attention to it. We can see it but it is like finding Waldo- have to search for a bit.

Knowing you- you will find a way to make it another winner.

I agree with the comments about the lighting to draw the viewer's attention to a focal point. They way it is now, it's just a collection of shot glasses with pretty colors and designs and they're all competing for attention.

I like your concept a lot and I know you'll find a way to make it work!

What a great way to say "you suck" and still let a person feel good rolleyes1.gifiloveyou.gif

No worries, I will do something.deal.gif I only wanted to show some progress...mwink.gif

    Appreciate everything you said! thumb.gif
Stay tuned - I'm starting to get a warm fuzzy feeling... :D
    Cheers! 1drink.gif

    PS

In case you didn't notice - it's a composite of 9 shots. I don't have so many shotglasses to fill a single frame...

that's really cool, 9 shots, huh? i can tell you're getting closer! this is pretty neat. my brother in law did a series of paintings that remind me of your photo. they were all similar things but with great variety. Can't wait to see the outcome of your warmth and fuzziness!

Much better effort, Nik. I think the surface the glasses are sitting on isn't the most flattering for the shot. I think it says "collection" to me more than irregular. Definitely a step toward the positive, though.

Once you finish all those glasses of vodka, then we can come right out and say, "Hey Nik, You Suck!" and you won't care rolleyes1.gifiloveyou.gifivar

I wish I a had a greater variety...:-( I would not have to spend 30 minutes shooting and then 30 minutes blending...

    Thanks!
