You know that bird that you dream about capturing some day well I have two, My first is the Bald Eagle and my 2nd a Great Horned Owl.
Thanks to a friend of mine Evan, showed me a long eared owls nest a few weeks ago, she was hunkered down on the nest pretty good probably on eggs we thought, well it turns out we were right.
Last week we went back to the nest we found Mom with child, it appears that we only have one hatchling, what a treat, I was so excited I could hardly talk, well high fives and these are a few of what we saw.
I captured these with my 30D 400 5.6 AND 580 EX flash
I threw in a few extras, hope you enjoy them

Is that flash I see on the owl? If so how'd you get up so close?

Yes, those shots were captured with Canon 30D 400 5.6 an a 580EX at dusk, these shots were all shot in manual mode with full output on the 580EX -2 FC

Love the owl shots but its almost sacrilegious to incude a tree rat shot in with owl captures. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I like to think I'm blessed rather than lucky, thanks for the kind comments.

Those owls blend in really well, if you can hear them look at around the bottom of the tree for owl pellets.

Afer an owl digest it's food they regurgetate a fur ball, you see those and most of the time you find owls, Good Luck
