Cardinals on ice

We had a big ice storm roll through this weekend, so I threw out some bird seed and enticed in some models for a little close up work.

    I heard you guys had some ice down there in Atlanta - I can see that you really did have some ice. The cardinals will thank you for your generosity.

    Shooting birds in the wintertime is kind of fun isn't it? How far were you from these birds when you shot these images and what lens did you use?

    The reds in the males overload the CMOS sensors if you are not very careful too, and blow out your hisotgram.
