Displaying Prints

Just wanted to share my method of displaying prints, that actually ended up being "spouse-approved," a rare phenomenon!. I used some 3/4" by 3/4" strips of wood, painted them the same color as our family room, and screwed them into the wall. Then I taped the photos to pre-cut mats, and simply placed them on my new ledges. It's much cheaper than framing every print, and the photos can be rearranged quite easily.

Here's an overview shot, followed by a detail of the ledge...

Very nice idea. I may get wife approval for something like that too!

Good luck, Tim. By the way, I forgot to mention....once the ledge is attached to the wall, the screw heads--which are recessed--are covered with wood filler, sanded smooth, and then painted. Thus you have no unsightly screws showing. This is really why you need spouse approval, because it's gonna be a major job to remove the ledges!!

    That is very nice.

I love the idea of matting, but not framing and can move around. Add new.

    Etc,

After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.
