I went for the cherry blossoms but ended up having more fun with other things.

First: The obligatory blossom shot

After this point I was in * W I D E * mode for the remainder of the evening.

Jefferson Memorial

Here's a building I hadn't seen before - the National Museum of the American Indian. This is really a cool building with a nice waterfall and stream on the Mall side.

How in the world did you get all of the people to go away? Every time I've been to DC the place is swamped with tourists!

Great shot! Is this out of the camera or processed?

WOW! I lived there for a few years and never saw it the way you photographed it. Very well done. I am in DC next week and hope to get in a night or dawn shoot.

    So Interesting!
I've seen all these things so often, yet all of a sudden they look new. So amazing. My favorite shot is The Museum of the American indian.

    Thanks for posting these. clap.gif

Patience! Actually this shot I cloned out a little girl standing in front of one of the far columns and also a big guy standing in the shadows on the left of the frame. I stood here for quite a while waiting but someone would always walk into the frame just as someone else was walking out of it. I did have a couple shots just around the corner to the left where there were NO people (because no entrance/exit) but this shot definitely had the better light. Still, patience got me to a shot where the cloning was fairly easy and quite effective.

Now that just made my day! I always try to take a different look at things - especially those that are photographed so often. I'm afraid I don't often succeed. Thank you!

Terrence - make sure you share.

You have a great eye for architecture, which I think just comes from understanding composition and formthumb.gifthumb

These are just wonderful! Looks like you were blessed with nice weather. You made great use of your wide angle...you really showed these buildings/memorials off so nicely. clap.gif

Thanks! Yes, we had a little over a week of really beautiful spring weather. The next weekend we woke up to 3-4 inches of snow. Brrr... Haven't had a warm day since. I'm glad I went when I did.
