    Where did you find this guy? I had three flying around at Jefferson Patterson Park last weekend, but they never came very close. (My longest lens right now is the 70-200 2.8). They've also returned to the nests along the Benedict Bridge (rte 231) over the Patuxent connecting Calvert and Charles Counties. I saw two bald eagles down at Flag Ponds, but they didn't want to come to close either. Unlike Harry I'm not a good bird charmer. ;)

    Christina, I got this shot on base, in one of the public areas, where you can use a camera. There is a nest that is close to the ground and you can get right next to it. I didn't want to disturb this male and female couple, so I moved close with out getting them upset. I got this shot as one was returning to the nest and flew right over me on its return path. The Eagles weren't as good to me this year. I also am not using a large lens, just a 80-200. The best chance I had was of a baldy over at Flag Ponds about a month ago. Right at 5pm, as a few of use were shotting the bull, one flew up and landed in a tree about 30 yards away and sat there. Would have made for great shots, but the tree limbs were everywhere in the way. Well have to run into each other some time over at flag ponds.
