    Annie,
    If reshoot is possible I'd suggest using the polarizer to kill the reflection in the outer tube's glass.

    I don't think the horizontal turn works on this photo. With some images you can get away with it, but with this one there are too many things that tell the eye that it is supposed to be vertical. The image you have posted is wonderful...not sure what the filter that was mentioned will do but I'd be interesting in seeing what happens. Nicely done! - dizzy, who is having issues with this challenge :P

    Are you referring to the blue and white which is actually the sky behind the photo ?

    It's definitely an interesting shot. I have a Galileo thermometer too, so it's hard for me to see it as irregular, it just looks horizontal to me. I like the clouds in the background, but I do still see reflection (going across the blue ball most prominently) which draws some attention.

    Sorry Im still confused which photo is the reflection in ?
