I replied recently to Smugmug to say "Thanks" for checking on an issue with a customer's order. Andy replied to let me know he appreciated my comments. I replied back and casually mentioned I was having trouble getting the proper "purple" color on some softball jerseys. Imagine my surprise when Andy emailed and asked for more information and a link to a photo!
As many of you know, the color "purple" and all its variants can be a problem in digital photos. I use PS CS2 and was trying to get my editing to properly show the image, and the color adjustments I was doing. I looked through a lot of really good SMUGMUG help sections, but was still having trouble.
I asked Andy several questions, he did some checking and replied back with some very helpful suggestions. With his help, I've been able to get the colors much closer to what the jerseys really looked like:

I'm not as proficient as I need to be in Photoshop, but I do the best I can. I shoot in Adobe RGB (to print on an Epson R1800) and convert to sRGB for images I upload to Smugmug. I soft proof using the ezprints.icc profile. My problem was that in the "soft proof (In CS2 - View, Proof Setup, Custom) I was leaving the box for "Preserve RGB numbers" checked, and this changed the appearance of the colors on my calibrated monitor.
Andy came to the rescue and offered some other suggestions as well!
So.... again... THANKS to Andy and Smugmug for a great job supporting my needs, and those of the everyone that uses Smugmug.:clap
